Many of our establishments in Whitby, particularly those in the town centre, offer parking scratch cards to guests for the length of their stay. When the scratch cards are visible in the car, visitors are entitled to free on-street parking in the Whitby W zones.

The streets within the Whitby W parking zones include the following:

• Hudson Street
• Argyle Road
• Back St Hilda’s Terrace
• Crescent Avenue
• Well Cl Square
• John Street
• West Terrace

The year, month, and day of arrival must be scratched. Don’t mark off each day of your visit; doing so will render the permit void. The first day is the only one that can be skipped.

• Don’t forget to enter the registration number of your car in the white box next to the W.
• Don’t forget to enter the name of the lodging under “Holiday Accommodation Name.”
• The parking scratch card can only be used in Whitby’s W zones. A parking penalty may be issued for parking in any other zone.
• Once you have properly read and followed all of the directions on the scratch card, your car needs to prominently display the parking scratch card.
• You might receive more than one scratch card to cover the total number of nights on your reservation, depending on how long you want to stay. When the scratch card is about to expire, please remember to change it.
