We stayed for 3 nights in Pantiles and, as everyone says, it was perfect. Clean, toasty warm and fantastically well-equipped. The allocated parking spot is snug but, once the car was in, we walked everywhere which is easy to do. Close to the West Cliff, quayside and centre of Whitby. Being detached, the accommodation was very quiet and private. We hope to book again for a pre-Christmas trip this year.
What a lovely place to stay, it is in a small off road area that is so quiet we didn’t hear anyone during our stay. The parking space is a bonus although a little tight if you have a bigger car. It is very comfortable throughout and there is plenty of room for 4 adults easily. I don’t have any negative points at all and we will definitely return in the future.
Just returned from a 3 night stay in this lovely, modern, clean apartment. Everything top quality and providing everything you could possibly need. Perfect for 2 couples. Ideally situated for all the delights of Whitby and with the bonus of private parking. Highly recommended.
We’ve just left after a three night stay at Pantiles and loved every minute of our time in Whitby! The accommodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped and one of the best showers we’ve ever had in a holiday let. Conveniently located with parking below and easily walkable distance to town.

This “bungalow on stilts” is ideally placed, once you’ve found it. It is really down some narrow streets to get to it, especially when there is roadworks. Once found it really is invaluable to have a parking space – we drive a Land rover and parked it with no issue.
The bungalow is lovely – just like the pictures on the site, very comfortable with all you need. We particularly liked the shower. Our only minor issues where we found it difficult to regulate the heating, but the weather was all over the place whilst we were there, and the other thing to note is the wooden floors are quite noisy, with 2 teenage boys I was pleased there was no one below us!
The location as a base was fantastic – go one way and you are on the beach within 5 mins, go the other way and you are at the bridge to cross over to explore the other side of Whitby. Lots of restaurants within 5 min walk. The car did not move for the 4 days we were there. We found enough to do, it was quite busy for the time of year and trying to maintain social distancing was a challenge at times, I’m guessing this would be even worse during the summer.
We enjoyed our time in Whitby and would recommend Pantiles as a base. Alison and Sarah were both extremely helpful, giving advice and recommending places to eat – many thanks.
An absolutely perfect place to stay in Whitby! After plans to spend Christmas abroad, with my wife and 2 teenage sons, were put on hold, we decided to visit somewhere more local. Pantiles was absolutely perfect for our needs. The pictures do not do it justice. It was very well equipped, with very good entertainment equipment and very good kitchen equipment. We had no problem cooking a full Christmas dinner. The house was spacious but warm and cosy, with the under floor heating in the bathroom particularly appreciated. The location was excellent, with the whale bone arch 5 mins walk away and Whitby town centre less than 10 mins walk. We were able to leave the car in the very convenient parking spot below the house for the entire trip, with everything we needed within walking distance. Whitby itself was very beautiful and allowed several nice walks around the town and along the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Whitby and most impressively so did our teenage sons. Any place that has enough history and fascinating information to hold their attention is definitely worth visiting. We highly recommend Pantiles and would love to visit again in the future.
Upon arrival at pantiles, we had received directions in advance, which made locating Pantiles easier. Pantiles can only be described as a bungalow on stilts with approx 15 steps to get into the accommodation.. once inside the interior is light, bright, immaculate, and of a very high standard. All rooms were spacious and had all amenities that you might need during your stay such as washer/ dryer, dishwasher, iron, hoover etc.. plus condiments which you might need to save you from buying yourself. The bathroom is outstanding complimented by under floor heating and a lovely rainwater shower.. plus an amazing bath tub too. Moving to outside, the view from the apartment is just amazing with the abbey being the focal point in the distance. It’s just beautiful. The apartment is in a perfect location with no through road meaning quieter than some of the streets located so close to the town centre, parking if needed, and just the right distance to walk into town and back, or to explore the many beautiful towns and villages in the surrounding area.. we can’t wait to visit again..
We booked this letting as a seaside getaway from the stresses of the covid situation. We got slightly lost as we arrived but upon ringing Alison we were quickly directed to the apartment – I couldn’t fault her help!
The parking space underneath the apartment is a God-send and we would not be without it. The letting is in a great area, only a quick walk away from the pier and the seafront. We could not ask for a better location. The letting was absolutely spotless when we arrived and we felt completely safe knowing the safety measures taken on our behalf. I have loved our time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone planning on a lovely place to get away.
The only thing we have missed is bathroom and bedroom bins, however these could well have been removed for the covid safety requirements, so I wouldn’t worry too much about those!
We made a four night stay over the New Year, this being our 2nd visit to Pantiles. I can’t imagine we would consider anywhere else when we next visit beautiful Whitby. Its a great place with all the amenities you could need. Wifi was good, and the Now tv box is a handy addition since our last stay. Can’t wait until the next time.

Minutes from the beach, shops & attractions this beautiful ‘bungalow on stilts’ is just perfect. With parking underneath which is a must have in Whitby, it’s the little touches like having milk there for when we arrived n chocolates too The standard of cleanliness is fantastic, as is everything in the accommodation, we had amazing hot sunny weather but it was still nice n cool in there. Bed soft but very comfy, shower awesome Alison the owner is great at helping with any questions etc We have been here several times now & wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Whitby but here x
Stayed here for 3 nights (27-30 June), this apartment is lovely, very clean, and the bed is the best I have slept in, so comfy. The private parking underneath is a godsend, as parking is a nightmare in Whitby. Everything was in walking distance so left the car parked for the 3 days. Lovely little touches in the apartment, lots of tea and coffee, milk and a nice box of chocs! Would love to return to this apartment in the future, as we did not manage to visit every single pub, as there are so many!
Pantiles was an excellent place to stay in Whitby.Very good location, central to everything and a parking space.We found the area quiet.The accommodation itself was spotlessly clean ,plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and had everything we needed could not fault at all.Would recommend and return if visiting Whitby again.
We have just had a long weekend here and found it an excellent place to stay. The apartment has everything we needed, parking underneath the apartment, washer, dryer, dishwasher, ample kitchen equipment all to a high standard. Two good sized bedrooms and the double bed was very comfy. It’s in a brilliant location. We had great contact from Alison and Sarah with easy access on the day we arrived. We had no problems with noise or seagulls and the neighbours were lovely. The weather was fantastic so this was a bonus and I’m sure we will be back.
This is the second time we have stayed in Pantiles and I’m sure won’t be the last! It’s in a great location and has it’s own parking which is a big plus. The apartment is clean and spacious and well equipped and the owners are very helpful and quick to respond. The only slight issue is that, because the apartment is raised above the parking for several dwellings and the floor is quite bouncy, the vibrations from slamming car doors and heavy footed companions can be a bit disruptive if you are a light sleeper. I’ve not knocked off any marks as this wouldn’t be a problem for most people, really only for light sleepers who are night-owls like me – trying to sleep when the rest of the world is up and about!
Walking distance to the riverside and all that Whitby offers.The abbey can be seen from the verandah. A big plus is the parking bay under the flat, very rare in Whitby, which was built for pack horses, not cars. Roomy, comfortable flat, big main bedroom, small second bedroom. Well equipped kitchen.
We have stayed at Pantiles twice now, and on both occasions, we couldn’t have asked for more. Indeed, from the booking, through to the arrival, everything went smoothly. The stays themselves were fantastic. The property is well maintained, meticulously cleaned, very comfortable and has everything you need in a holiday let. A major plus is the private parking, which in Whitby is hard to come by We were blessed with good weather on both visits and the location made it extremely handy to access the beach, the harbour, etc. including the new and old parts of Whitby. As my son says – it’s awesome!
This 2 bedroom apartment/house was just perfect. Close to the shops, pubs and restaurants. It was home from home and exceptionally clean. Rooms were spacious. Bathroom and shower fantastic. Hot water all the time. Comfortable beds. Very professional service from the owners. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay there again.
We have been visiting this apartment regularly since our youngest was born 13 years ago and still look forward to each trip – it’s liking coming home. The apartment has everything you need for a very comfortable stay and ideally located within walking distance to the heart of Whitby. There’s only 1 problem – we’re not the only ones who love it – so you need to book early to avoid disappointment, there has been a couple of occasions when we’ve left it too late. We’ll be back again soon x
A lovely dwelling situated perfectly for exploring Whitby. Few niggles & sleepless nights lost this holiday property a star.
We chose Pantiles for our annual trip to Whitby after speaking with the owners as we left a nearby property last year. They were kind enough to show us around the property as they spruced it up. Upon arrival the property was immaculately clean. Comfortable beds, WiFi for those that need it. This is a real gem of a property, and Alison was swift with communications, even allowing us to add an additional night to our stay when I contacted her during our stay. 5 minutes walk and you’re in town, a great location. The flat is cosy and warm (even in February when we visited). Lots of info about local services and tourist attractions and local walks are available in the property. The flat is so well appointed, and we want to express our gratitude to the property manager and cleaner. The best holiday let we’ve ever used. This will be our first choice for future trips to Whitby, a town we’ve grown to love. It’s clear that Alison, her husband and the property manager have worked exceptionally hard to create such a wonderful place to stay, a home from home…and it all started by chance when the owners invited us to take a look as we were leaving following a previous stay in the same street. I shall certainly be recommending the property to friends and family who visit Whitby from time to time. Huge thanks to the team that own / manage the property. The only potential problem would be for people with difficulty ascending / descending stairs as the property is a first floor
