Holiday let accommodation with private parking

The most frequent question any accommodation provider in Whitby get is:  “Where can I park in Whitby when I arrive for my holiday?”

The first thing visitors to Whitby need to know is that there is extremely little parking in the town’s tourist area. For this reason, on May 1, 2014, Scarborough Council launched a park-and-ride programme.

Parking & Ride is your best option if you’re happy with it, but if you want to go into the town itself, there’s pretty much no chance for a day tripper to find a spot near the front because most on-road parking is now two-hour zone only or one-hour parking with a parking badge.

However, owners of vacation rentals in Whitby’s downtown can purchase parking scratch cards for their visitors, allowing them to spend up to four days apiece in the two-hour zones.

Finding on-street parking during the height of summer can still be quite challenging. If this is the case, your only options are to use one of the pay-and-display parking, or drive to a location that is a little outside of the city center and allows on-street parking without a Scratchcard. These spots for on-road parking are right outside the town centre.

Sounds like a parking nightmare? Well… it is! And now the good news: book your accommodation with Pantiles apartments, and you will have your own free, private parking come with it! Nice and simple.
